Attached is a summary of the Planning Department proposal that was passed in Commission (with the addition of a restriction on balconies abutting single-family residential uses). Councilmember Krekorian made suggested changes at Commission, but none of those changes (other than the balconies) were adopted by the Commission.
Also attached, are recommendations by Councilman Paul Krekorian.

Cultural Affairs Committee Celebrates Republic Pictures 75 Years
Republic Pictures, renowned for its westerns, movie serials, and B-films, turns 75 years old this year.In honor of this momentous anniversary, the Cultural Affairs Committee of the Studio City Neighborhood Council and Museum of the San Fernando Valley will host a series of events celebrating the studio.
The American Cinematheque hosts a Republic Pictures evening Wednesday, September 15 at 7:30 PM in the Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood.Scheduled films include IT’S A GRAND OLD NAG (1947), Republic’s only cartoon, MEET ROY ROGERS (1941), UNDER WESTERN STARS (1938), Roger’s first starring role, and SOUTH OF THE BORDER (1939), starring Gene Autry.Tickets cost $7 for members, $9 for students and seniors, and $11 for general admission.Please visit www.fandango.com to buy tickets.
Film historian Marc Wanamaker will highlight the history of the studio with a talk and slide presentation at the Studio City library Tuesday, September 21 at 7 PM.Admission is free.
The anniversary culminates with a free celebration Saturday, September 25 from 11 AM to 5 PM at CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave. in Studio City. Activities will include a Kids Art Corner, cancellation of the United States Postal Service’s Cowboys of the Silver Screen postage stamps, special entertainment, musical performances, film screenings, memorabilia, and speakers’ forums.Celebrities such as Leonard Maltin, Adrian Booth, Diana Canova, Herb Jeffries, Anne Jeffreys, Joan Leslie, Hugh O’Brian, Peggy Stewart, Jane Withers, and others will appear, schedules permitting.

The SCNC Cultural Affairs Committee is organizing neighborhood walkabouts throughout Studio City, and we want to include your neighborhood.
We are looking for:
People to represent your neighborhood, be it you or anyone you know that may have an interest.
Information on any parts of Studio City (neighborhoods, businesses, schools, people that had an impact on Studio City or was influential in "LA", etc. .)
History is around every corner...please share your stories and photos with us (you'll get the photos back for we will just scan them).

ATTENTION! September Board Meeting will be held Wednesday, July 22th
The SCNC Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, 7:00pm at CBS Studio Center, Building 8, MPR-3 meeting room (you can ask the CBS guard at the gate for directions). All Council meetings are open to the public. You are welcome participate and encouraged to attend. Meeting agendas are posted at least 72 hours before each meeting on this website, the Studio City Public Library, outside the gate of CBS Studio Center, Carpenter Elementary School and Studio City Recreational Center.

What is the Neighborhood Council?
Created by City Charter (pdf) to make government more responsive to local needs, the Studio City Neighborhood
Council (SCNC), now in its fourth annual term, is an elected body officially recognized by the City of Los Angeles to promote greater access and participation in the political process. Its mission is to build community and advise City government on issues of local concern, and to direct information between local Stakeholders and city agencies. Its members include a diverse group of Studio City stakeholders who pledge to fight for you and present your interest at City Hall.
